Not a Government Office or Records Custodian. Passaic Residents Directory is a private reference. We cannot retrieve, certify, correct, or remove records, and we cannot confirm where anyone is. Ask the agency that holds the record. For an emergency, call 911. If you are being stalked or harassed, contact local police.

Finding the Right Record

Use the source that matches the record type. The Passaic County Clerk handles recorded land instruments; City Vital Statistics handles its local applications; and County or State offices manage their own systems. The following public office details come from the Passaic research record and should be used to start a focused request.

  • Street address, parcel, assessment, or recorded document: use the Passaic street directory workflow, then contact the Passaic County Clerk, Registry Division, 401 Grand Street, Room 113, Paterson, NJ 07505, 973-881-4777. Land Records Vault: 77 Hamilton Street, basement, Paterson, NJ 07505, 973-881-4785. Listed land-record access is generally weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.; the Vault and Map Room open at 8:30 a.m., with arrival by 4 p.m. Verify before travel.
  • Historical directory volume or local history: use the Passaic directory collections and contact the Passaic Public Library reference department at 973-779-0474 ext. 11 or ref@passaicpubliclibrary.org.
  • One official name-based record: use the Passaic resident lookup route and follow the court, voter, vital, or credential system’s own instructions.
  • City vital application: City Hall is at 330 Passaic Street, Passaic, NJ 07055. Vital Statistics lists 973-365-5601 and 973-365-5602; the Municipal Clerk lists 973-365-5584. Public hours are listed Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; the local vital form describes a shorter approximate counter window, so confirm before visiting.
  • County GIS or another county record not online: file a narrow request under the New Jersey Open Public Records Act with the documented county custodian or OPRA Center.

For a record held by the City, County, State, court, library, or historical society, that institution controls access, copies, fees, restrictions, and corrections. Cite the record class, location, identifier, and date range to make the request easier to route.
